Palestine quits Arab league chairmanship over Bahrain, UAE normalisation of ties with Zionist entity

The Palestinian Authority sees the ‎UAE and Bahrain’s normalisation with ‎the Zionist entity as a betrayal of the ‎Palestinians Nobel cause and a blow ‎to their struggle for an independent ‎Palestinian state The Arab league Position on Palestine ‎is based on the Arab peace Initiative

Press TV interviewed Dr. Saeb Shaath, Author and Middle East Affairs expert on the issue of Palestine quits Arab league chairmanship over Bahrain, UAE normalisation of ties with Zionist entity ‘Israel’.

Shaath said: “The Palestinian Authority sees the ‎UAE and Bahrain’s normalisation with ‎the Zionist entity as a betrayal of the ‎Palestinians Nobel cause and a blow ‎to their struggle for an independent ‎Palestinian state The Arab league Position on Palestine ‎is based on the Arab peace Initiative ‎which was proposed by Saudi Arabia in ‎the 2002 Beirut Arab Summit which calls ‎for a “two-state solution” along the ‎‎1967 war lines and a “just” solution to ‎the Palestinian refugee issue”.

Shaath explained: ” ‎2 weeks ago on 9 of September the ‎Arab League failed to condemn the ‎Emirates who broke ranks with the Arab ‎League position … … the General ‎Secretariat of the Arab League headed by ‎Ahmed Abu ‎‏ ‏Gayit the Former Egyptian ‎F M of the deposed Mubarak regime , dropped a Palestinian draft resolution ‎which called for the condemnation of the ‎normalisation agreement between the ‎UAE and Zionist entity” .

Shaath added ” ‏ ‏the General Secretariat of the Arab ‎League decided to overlook the UAE’s ‎normalisation of ties with Zionist entity and ‎did not issue any condemnation of that ‎normalisation” .

Shaath went on to say” Most Forging minsters who attended that ‎Arab League FM’s Video conference ‎‎…raised their laud voices in support of ‎Saudi collation position calling for the ‎deterrence of the “Iranian interference” in ‎Yemen and Turkish ambitions in Libya”.‎

Shaath explained “In that meeting of the Arab league FMs, ‎lots of the foreign ministers supported the ‎Saudi position, hopping for financial benefits. They ‎did not mind the Zionist-American ‎colonialism of Arabic land in Syria, Iraq ‎Libya and the Arabian peninsula. While they do not see how vital and ‎urgent it is to start a dialogue with their own ‎Muslim brothers and neighbours, such as ‎Iran or Turkey to resolve any disputes” Shaath said” those ministers likes their regimes to stay as an American puppets, while the US uses their countries in waging their wars on Arab and Muslim ‎Nations, like Iraq, Syria and Libya”.

UN Security Council’s arms restrictions against Tehran have all been terminated in defiance of the United States’ >

An end to the arms embargo on Iran has proved that the United States, despite its ceaseless bid to extend the sanctions, has become very isolated in its hostile policy toward Iran.

As of today [October 18, 2020], all restrictions on the transfer of arms, related activities and financial services to and from the Islamic Republic of Iran, and all prohibitions regarding the entry into or transit through territories of the United Nations Member States previously imposed on a number of Iranian citizens and military officials, are all automatically terminated,” a statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.

To discuss the matter Press TV interviewed, Saeb Shaath , Author & Middle East Affairs Expert and James Tweedie, Journalist and Commentator on International Affairs.

The US’s theft of the Syrian crude oil

Shaath: The American company Delta Crescent Energy LLC, ‎made a deal with the Kurdish forces S.D.F . Now both the US forces and their stooges the S.D.F ‎are looting the Syrian crude oil in all Hasakeh ‎province.

U.S. IS LOOTING OIL FIELDS IN NORTHEASTERN SYRIA

This edition of the Debate is about the US’s theft of the Syrian crude oil. The Trump administration has contradicted its own statement by smuggling Syrian oil into Iraq.

Syrian President Bashar al Assad has told Russia’s Sputnik news agency that the presence of American and Turkish forces on Syrian soil amounts to occupation and must come to an end. President Assad also censured the West for creating and supporting terrorist groups like Daish. Assad urged the international community to pile pressure on Western forces to leave Syria.

Shaath: The American company Delta Crescent Energy LLC, ‎made a deal with the Kurdish forces S.D.F . Now both the US forces and their stooges the S.D.F ‎are looting the Syrian crude oil in all Hasakeh ‎province.

Shaath confirmed that : The American company involved in the northeast ‎Syria deal has received an exemption from the U.S. ‎Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets ‎Control to operate in Syria. That means no ‎sanctions and the company got a White house ‎approval ‎.

Shaath : Since Trump declared that he is intending on ‎pulling forces out of Syria…but after the partial U.S. ‎troop withdrawal from northeast Syria in October ‎‎2019, Trump said he is keeping some forces there “to ‎secure the oil.”‎

Shaath : The Kurdish S.D.F ‎militants are assisting the US in looting the ‎Syrian oil, at some stage the US will be forced to ‎pull totally out of Syria.‎ When the U.S. pulls out of Syria, as I believe soon it ‎will be under way, The US will abandon its Kurdish S.D.F ‎militants in Northeast Syria.‎

Analysing Lebanon’s multiple crises

The United States on September 8 slapped sanctions on two former cabinet ministers in Lebanon over support for Hezbollah as it vowed to isolate the resistance movement.

Press TV interviews Saeb Shaath, Author and Middle East Affairs Expert to analyse Lebanon’s multiple crises, and Mariam Saleh, Press TV’s Lebanon correspondent.

President Michel Aoun accepted the resignation of PM-designate Mustafa Adib and was set to “take the appropriate measures according to the requirements of the constitution”, the president’s office said Saturday. Lebanon’s Prime Minister-designate Mustapha Adib has announced his resignation amid a deadlock over government formation in the crisis-hit country.

In a televised address on Saturday, Adib said he was stepping down from “the task of forming the government” following a meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun. He also noted that the kind of cabinet that he wanted to establish “was bound to fail” and that he was keen on protecting national unity. “I apologize to the Lebanese people,” he added.

The announcement came almost a month after Adib, former Lebanese ambassador to Berlin, was appointed by the president to form a new government. Lebanon is currently mired in the country’s worst economic and financial crisis in its modern history.

It has been waiting for a new administration since outgoing Prime Minister Hassan Diab resigned on August 10, a few days after a powerful explosion in the capital killed more than nearly 200 people, injured thousands and caused losses worth billions of dollars. The blast took place in Beirut port warehouses storing highly explosive material, specifically ammonium nitrate, commonly used in both fertiliser and bombs. The explosion — one of the biggest non-nuclear explosions the world has ever seen — flattened much of the strategic port and left buildings in ruin. Following the blast, the US and European countries have been mounting pressure on Lebanese officials to form a government that secures the West’s interests.

The United States on September 8 slapped sanctions on two former cabinet ministers in Lebanon over support for Hezbollah as it vowed to isolate the resistance movement. French President Emmanuel Macron paid two visits to Lebanon, where he called for a “new political pact” among Lebanese political factions and said he had proposed a roadmap to authorities to unlock billions of dollars in funds from the international community.
